Movers and Shakers

Ashirion has always been shaped by the deeds of the people who step upon the face of the broken sphere, it has always been changed by the bravest of the brave who dare to rise to each new challenge and fight for a glory or goal.

These are just a few of the notable personalities that have graced the broken sphere in the many years it has evolved.

Generic Historical Figures

Lord Whitewolf

The once undisputed true King of the whole of Ashirion, the Lord of the Shakari and the master of Moonsinger Castle has now become an Advisor to Ronin. Whitewolf is a legendary figure that has a quiet demeanour and a soft voice, some have said he is like a cutting cold avalanche in battle and a terrible foe, but thankfully not many have seen the White King in his true form knee deep in the bodies of the slain, they have only seen the young pale skinned, white haired handsome man who guides with a generous heart and open mind. Whitewolf was slain at one time by his brother, the Lord Kayne who sought to undermine the Shakari and the broken sphere, while we shall not retell history here we shall mention this for clarification. The White King however was only imprisoned in Kayne's dark blade and as Kayne was killed, so to was the demon sword broken and its influence over Whitewolf's brother - Kayne's body was never found. Recently rumour has it that the Red Lord has indeed returned to aid the sphere to atone for his actions in its earlier downfall.

Whitewolf has one more time consented after much deliberation to take upon his shoulders the mantle of White King, as Eydan has decreed.

Lord Kayne

The brother to the Whitewolf and known as the Red Lord of Ashirion, Kayne during his time was a master manipulator, treacherous dog and a dark beast capable of great acts of betrayal and corruption. His soul was bound with the fate of a demon sword that sought to bring the world into the hands of the terrible Risen and other dark creatures. Kayne was slain at the hands of another and his sword broken, when the blade was destroyed it released its hold over the arrogant Lord and Kayne was thought to have perished there and then. The problem with darkness is that it is very nearly impossible to eradicate and Kayne was tougher than that - he returned recently to stand beside the Goddess 'Crimson' and many are concerned that the Red Lord's motives are once again highly dubious and usually selfish. -- Recently Kayne has vanished, those who knew him can't help feeling a sense of dread over this, Kayne was never one to just dissapear...did he bite off more than he could chew, or has the dark Lord finally ascended to that which he truly sought?

Lord Shakarovar

Once the right hand of the Lord Whitewolf, a noble and valiant Wolf Knight, Shakarovar was untouched by darkness. But sadly that was not to last, he was betrayed by the Lady Isharyn, who in turn a long time ago had been seduced by shadow - drawn into shadow's web and cast as a wandering spirit into the void - there she learned the true price of vanity. It was not Isharyn that brought the noble Wolf Knight to his knees but a Risen using her body. Regardless of such things, he was slain and should have risen as a dark being under her command - but something went terribly wrong with that and Shakarovar was turned into a true horror, surpassing his mistress and laying waste to most of Ashirion as he united with Kayne, Darkwolf and Isharyn in a bloody unity. Shakarovar was almost successful in the destruction of the broken sphere, and it is to his claws that we owe our shattered lives. Now he has been redeemed by an act of love, forced to atone for these actions he serves as the master of the Knightmages, under the very King he sought to destroy. A new chapter in Shakarovar's life has begun recently that can be understood in news gods

Lord Darkwolf

No matter how many lives are drawn into a web of shadow and into a lake of twisted desire, there is always that one who dives into the waters freely and without considering the ripples they create. Darkwolf was one such being, father of Isharyn and one of the most despicable men to grace the broken sphere, when his daughter was possessed by the dark powers Darkwolf allowed himself to be taken, and in turn he turned the power of the Risen back on themselves combining the two forms into one whole. He constantly plotted to overthrow and destroy the Shakari traditions - his only desire was dominion over Ashirion and he used Kayne as a puppet, by giving him his demon bound blade and setting the man on a terrible course of destiny. Darkwolf perished as he should have and no records have arisen to prove that the most twisted figure in our history is alive. We hope that his evil is truly gone from Ashirion but many of us cannot help waking at night drenched in sweat and praying to the Great Wolf that it was only a dream.

King Ronin

Many of the Shakari will tell you of this one if you ask them, he is the kind of man who has used his skill, courage and other values to carve the name 'Legend' out for himself amongst the races of Ashirion. He was once a long time ago offered the mantle of King to rule instead of the Lord Whitewolf, but he refused - Ronin is a stoic and practical man who serves and refuses to be a great leader, denying his destiny in favour of being the pivot around which many great events have turned. Ronin was at the battle of the Sundering - he entered the Void's dark realm and survived for a great time there - learning his enemy's strengths and weaknesses. He commanded such loyalty that his war band followed him into those lands, without a single question asked. He returned many years later and stopped the massacre of a Shakari scouting party lead by the Lady Bluewolf. Now he serves as Queen Nennuir's 'Warmaster' and keeps the City of Ruatha safe from its enemies. Most often or not he can be found playing a lute and smoking his pipe near the Fortune's Luck tavern.

Due to the recent upheavalsRonin has taken the mantle of the White King, the ruler of Ashirion itself. What this will mean for him, only time can tell.

Lady Bluewolf

A force to be reckoned with and a woman of striking beauty with a sharp tongue and a sharper blade. Bluewolf is Ronin's second in command, his mate and more importantly his friend - she and he have served many long years side by side and she gave her position of Moonsinger's Castellan to another so that she could continue to aid Ronin after he returned from the dark lands of the Void. Bluewolf is often called 'Auntie' Blue by some of the younger Shakari and as a little in-joke by those who know her, while she often reacts with mock irritation to this name - it is usually only that and she actually, secretly finds great pleasure in knowing she's touched so many lives - so deeply. A quiet woman and a thinker, she aids the Warmaster in the Queen's Guard and has been close to death herself many times, sadly this last time - was fatal, Bluewolf is no more.

Lady Isharyn

She is known as the Shadowolf and with good reason, Isharyn was a vain and arrogant noblewoman, Darkwolf's daughter and delighted in the breaking of young male's hearts. That was until her body was stolen by the Risen and her soul was set free to the darkness beyond the Void's homeland. There it wandered for many years until coming to the claws of the Shadow Lord. Aras recognised the power there and forced her to serve him as one of his Shadoen. It was only since she reunited with the Lord Shakarovar at the end of the Third Shadow War that Isharyn has become a free spirit once more. Oddly enough time in those dark planes away from her father has given her a unique perspective on life and she now has vowed to lead the remaining Shadoen into a new life, one that's better than they had under the power of the Shadow Lord. Only time will tell if her true motives are hidden from us, or not.

Serbannen (The Wise)

An old wizard this one, a craggy fellow that has seen many moons and suns pass by the sphere. He was the one who created the 'Waystones' that allow transportation across vast distances and it was thanks to his power that the Sundering was prevented and Ashirion was saved - the power of the very Waystones and the mage's spell was able to bind the lands as shards, preventing the total dissolution of the sphere and saving the world from destruction. Serbannen now enjoys his time in Ruatha as the headmaster of the City's Mage's School and has taken a seat back from the days of adventuring and seeks to guide many towards the correct place in history. Of course he is also responsible for the creation of the magical amulet 'Crossover' and recently at the end of the Third War of Shadows revealed as much to those who stood in Kemman Dell as the amulet was finally recovered and the way to the mysterious city of Draconis was once more opened.

Lady Christina Drachalis

A long time ago upon the face of the unsundered lands there was an ancient group of warriors who had the power to control Dragons, they did not befriend these creatures at first but controlled them. Over time with the emergence of the god Dralgos, the Dragon God many things changed and the Dragon Masters became followers of this deity - Christina was at the head of the order. The power of the Dragon Masters was legendary and they fought back the first waves of darkness aided by the mysterious Sh'roud and other allies - in a fateful battle Christina was struck a mortal blow by Aras as she in turn shredded his mortal form and cast him from the lands of light into the darkness beyond. One of the other Dragon Masters took her to a place known as Sanctuary Rock, where she was placed in a healing stasis should the time arise for her to return and aid the world again. At the end of the Third War of Shadows a group of adventurers freed Christina from that slumber and brought her back to aid them against the Shadoen.

City Movers and Shakers

Queen Nennuir

The Fae Queen, the debate continues to rage on in many circles, is she or isn't she seelie or unseelie and only the Queen knows for certain on this matter. It amuses her to see her race brought into question so much and delights her true side no end. Nennuir is a true ruler however and her people come first, she will not hesitate to cause an offender a great deal of trouble should they set the fine equilibrium out of balance in her City, Kelbarden or adjacent lands she rules. Nennuir has made certain that the common people of Ruatha have a voice and woe betide any noble that she sees abusing their power to lord it over others. But this Queen is not a woman who simply remains in her seat of power, during the darker days of the Third War of Shadows - Nennuir stepped forwards to stand beside her Warmaster (One of her oldest and dearest friends) to battle the Shadoen who sought the destruction of her City and people. She has adopted the daughter of a wild elf tribe and now Quick serves not only as an Elemental Master of the Wayfarers but as the Queen's farspeaker and much more. The Queen is often fairly approachable and rumour flies that she often travels the City cloaked in glamour to see how her people are being treated and most importantly how her people treat others.

The High Wayfarer - Markus

Head of the secretive order of the Wayfarers and the undisputed king of humour in Ruatha's dark times is the young man Markus. One of the Great Wolf's chosen he was forced to watch his whole life destroyed before his eyes thanks to a magical accident. This accident bestowed upon him the curse of immortality on one hand and a great price on another. Markus cannot die, one might think that this is a wonderful opportunity but it is more curse than blessing. He has been forced to watch his human students and friends live their lives while he remains who he is, unchanged and unaltered by the etching winds of time. Watching them die and new ones rise to replace them. Yet through all of this Markus does the Great Wolf's work with nary a dark word spoken or a foul thought, he sees no way to change what transpired and continues to live with the immortality. Markus walks the Way tirelessly and could be described as a true hero, always willing to suffer to help others and always willing to face greater challenges day to day, recently an event once more altered his life but upon this particular happenstance he remains quiet and almost mischeviously so, some say he now walks with a greater spring in his step before and that his eyes burn with an ever fiercer determination.

Captain Talon Mane

The elf Captain of the Shardship 'The Mist Reaver' and a veritable rogue, scoundrel, vagabond, pirate, corsair - you name it. Talon is an elf that claims many grand adventures, be they true or not one thing remains perfectly clear - he seems to have an uncanny knack of being in the right place at the right time. Talon is credited of wooing a famous far-eastern alchemist's daughter into sharing the secrets of their research into the equivalent of gunpowder, which he then took and developed further, being persuaded to share the findings with the Iltyr for some reason. Talon himself claims that he gave the Iltyr their love of 'hats' and from looking at the elf it's possible that he did, his rakish buccaneers style hat usually has an impossibly large feather poking off it.

He is also credited with being the man who invented the windship, again, if this is an exaggeration there seems to be no one who can prove he did, or he did not. The fact remains that Talon's ship is one of the most unique vessels on Ashirion and has come to the rescue of Kelbarden and her Queen time and time again. For a while it was unsure if Talon was really a cleverly placed spy by some power or other, the rakish and dashing Captain always seemed to be at the centre of some plot, uncovering some mystery or just poking his nose in where he's really not wanted. He is in the middle of rebuilding the Saltwater Guild after it was destroyed by the actions of an ex-member, but as to Talon's purpose, there can really be no doubt now since he and his crew have been aiding Kelbarden's Queen tirelessly and he has already rescued many from the jaws of death during and after the third war of Shadows.

Lord Arian

The boldest, brightest and one of the shining 'dark stars' of the Shakari Knightmages and Lord Shakarovar's successor, chosen it is said by the White King himself to replace the dark creature as the head of the Knightmages. Arian is once again an oddity amongst his kind as Eydan, he refuses to take a traditional Shakari name and instead adopts the one that he now bears, he claims that it makes him easier to deal with. There are many that whisper Arian is just as much of a tyrant as Shakarovar but those whispers have yet to see any formal grounding, the mysterious hooded wolf-being keeps his own counsel and as of yet has been rarely seen outside of Moonsinger Castle and the Shakari's anscestral home of Wolfhome.
