Skill Levels
Average - This would be the base level of a skill, it demonstrates that you have at least learned the fundamental techniques of the skill's use. In the case of a weapon, strike, parry block.
Above-Average - (AA) Anyone with this particular skill tag is considered to be a little bit better than your average guard or soldier. In the case of a weapon this would be additional tricks like riposte, disarm and catch.
Expert - (E) Anyone with this skill set better be able to decently RP it or that will be removed for them, I want to see competant poses and no combat or skill twinkness from anyone with this level of skill...With a weapon you now move onto the more advanced skills, more deftness with the blade and a certain degree of style/finesse.
Master - (M) The last level of skill that a player could hope to attain and aspire to, this is the creme de-la creme of skills for you. You'd better be able to RP it, if I see lame poses and someone proves to me they're using a Master Swordskill or skill, I'm going to hit the roof and yank that skill faster than a Balrog can eat a Hobbit.
Legendary - (L) Reserved for powerful Historical Figures and Legends. It's a Non_Player Skill tag and should not be set on Players ever unless the circumstances are so great that they become a heroic figure in their own right, and even then, it's not wise to ask me or my Admin for a L level skill.
So there you have it, remember, having a skill doesn't mean you're going to win all the time, it just means you're better trained and have a better chance of winning. Luck and bad footing can have an effect on this...Kobolds can kill 12th level D&D Paladins with one well placed arrow. Think on it.
One more warning:- If you forget to set a skill you're considered to be below average at that skill. I.E. You'd be creamed in a fight with someone who had an Average or Higher skill, unless luck was really on your side.
