Unusual Characters

I thought I would take some time out to explain, before you get started a few small things about Ashirion. That will help you understand what is going on in the world of the Broken Sphere. Number one, Ashirion is a Broken Sphere which means there are no outside travelers to the world, they can't get in, and the residents of the Sphere cannot get out. It's cut off, sealed off and closed off from all contacts to other worlds. There are two reasons for this, and this is one of them. We do not allow film, book, media (games etc) or TV characters directly taken from their sources onto Ashirion, characters similarly named with kind-of-names are allowable, and similar powers. So if you wanted Conan you could have Kohnan as an example or Conan who is a book seller. Characters like Batman, Superman, Dracula, will be flatly refused and removed.

There are copyright issues here and I am not going to risk them.

The second reason for this is Ashirion is a unique world that has unique races and many other things that exist to draw from. Read the news and check out the standard races before you try to bring a non-standard game race in. Hellion and Wolf are the only admin who can approve a special race or concept, anyone else can talk it through with you, but it should be directed to me or her. This is a Game World I designed, and I made, it has particular ways things exist and are done.

To this end, I will now explain some of my reasons for not allowing certain things on Ashirion race wise.

#1 Vampires

Done to death, and overdone, from an early dawn Ashirion did have Vampires, but they were not as per typical Vampires from film, book, tv etc, or World of Darkness, D&D. But they were hunted down, and slaughtered by the superstitious Humans, after one of them went on a rampage and killed a small Village because they snubbed them...this sparked a hidden war, against the race, and they were massacred.

#2 Demons

Again, none, they don't exist. There is no heaven, or hell on Ashirion, there are outsiders, forces that exist beyond the ken of mortal or immortal races. Shadows that crawl into the prime plane to cause trouble and death. These are often known as the Eldritch ones, or Trespassers. This is a catch all category that pockets the similar kinds of things to demons in. But any mention of real world demons or devils I do not encourage, names as such and player names will be frowned upon, chars with names as such will be asked to change them. If you enounter such Eldritch on the grid it's likely to be Admin controlled and in a Story or Tiny Plot.

#3 Ghosts, Spirits, Undead of any kind

They do exist but once again, called the Risen usually, and once again, will be NPC, GM controlled, alts once more involved in a Story or Tiny Plot.

A Lich, there's only one, and he's pretty bad-assed, and I play him, nuff said.

#4 Dragons

Dragons do exist, but they're not the D&D Variety of Monster, no, they are intelligent, do not work on the chromatic or metallic scale of things, and often spend time in human form. One noteable Dragon is the Magus, Lord Blackmoor. Players have been approved for Dragons in the game before now, but it's rare, and few and far between. Dragon information can be found here

#5 Playing on the side of the bad guys

Fine, suit yourself, you want to be a bad guy, learn one thing, the bad guys are often created to challenge and give the players a hard time, eventually, the heroes will probably triumph, depending how far they take it, and how well they rp. So know that ICA=ICC and if you upset a hero, or you think you can use the fact you want to be on the side of the bad guys to cause trouble, well, you'll get the same as them, and that unfortunately will be enforced, the same as if you're in a plot of mine, and you've been warned about possible Character Death, world's not a nice place, all of the time. So deal with it if you do die. It's not the GM that kills a player, but if you do something really numb-nuts, you'll pay for it, as is fitting ICly.
